Principal’s Message

Dr. N.V. Subba Rao is a distinguished academic leader and the current Principal of Anu Bose Institute of Technology (ABIT). With an extensive career spanning over two decades, Dr. Subba Rao has made significant contributions to the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Power Systems from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada. His academic credentials also include an M.Tech in Power Systems-High Voltage Engineering from the same university, a BE in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Andhra University Engineering College, and a Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from M.B.T.S Govt. Polytechnic, Guntur.

Dr. Subba Rao's professional journey is marked by a progression through various pivotal roles in academia. He began as an Assistant Professor at L.B.R College of Engineering (Autonomous), Mylavaram, and rose through the ranks to become an Associate Professor, Professor, and eventually the Dean of Academics before assuming the role of Principal at ABIT in January 2017. His tenure at ABIT has been characterized by a relentless pursuit of academic excellence and organizational development.

His research interests primarily lie in the area of Transmission Loss Allocation under Deregulated Power Systems, with a specific focus on the application of FACTS Controllers. Dr. Subba Rao has a robust portfolio of research publications, having authored numerous papers in reputed international journals and conferences. His notable works include methodologies for transmission loss allocation and optimal power flow using advanced algorithms.

In addition to his academic and research accomplishments, Dr. Subba Rao has been actively involved in organizing and conducting national workshops and seminars. These events, such as the National Seminar on Power System Deregulation and the National Workshop on Smart Electric Grids, have played a crucial role in addressing contemporary challenges in power systems and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.

Dr. Subba Rao has also been an integral part of various administrative committees, contributing to curriculum development, budget coordination, and quality assurance processes. His dedication to education is reflected in his efforts to create a learning environment that promotes innovation, critical thinking, and ethical practices among students and faculty.
