Ragging has ruined countless innocent lives and careers. In order to eradicate it, Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 887 of 2009, passed the judgement wherein guidelines were issued for setting up of a Central Crisis Hotline and Anti-Ragging database.
In accordance with the orders, UGC (University Grants Commission), Govt. of India has developed this web portal.

ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE
Ragging is a criminal offense. Ragging is strictly prohibited by both State Govt. and Central Govt. Punishment for ragging will be as follows:
(i) Imprisonment up to three years and fine of Rs.50,000/-
(ii) Dismissal from the college
As per the order of Supreme Court of India and subsequent Notification from University Grants Commission (UGC), ragging constitutes one or more of any intention by any student or group of students on:
- Any act of Indiscipline, Teasing or Handling with Rudeness.
- Any act that Prevents, Disrupts the Regular Academic Activity.
- Any activity which is likely to cause Annoyance, hardship, Psychological Harm or creates Fear or Apprehension.
- Any Act of Financial Extortion or Forceful Expenditure.
- Any Act of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or danger to Health.
- Any Act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS or public insult etc.
- Any Act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to the human dignity.
- Any Act of Wrongful Confinement, Kidnapping molesting or committing unnatural offences, use of criminal forces, trespass or intimidation.
- Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy to ragging.
VISION
Anti-Ragging ensures to create an atmosphere of a sensitive and liable outlook amid the students about the cause and effects of indulging in ragging.
MISSION
Anti-Ragging Committee to ensure compliance with the provisions of Regulations as well as the provisions of any law for the time being in force concerning ragging; and also, to monitor and oversee the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in prevention of ragging in the institution.
OBJECTIVES
- The main objectives of this committee are as follows.
- The Anti-Ragging bearers work under the supervision of Anti Ragging Committee and toengage in inspecting places like Buses, Canteens, Classrooms and other places of studentgathering
- In designing stratage
- For curbing the Menace of Ragging in the college.
- Conduct awareness programmes in the campus on a regular basis
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To ensure compliance with the provision of UGC regulation2009 at the institute level.
- To monitor and oversee the performance of Anti-Ragging committee in prevention of ragging in the institution.
- Topublicizetoallstudentsabouttheprevalentdirectivesandthe actionsthatcanbetakenagainst those indulging in ragging.
- Totakenecessarymeasures forpreventionofragging within the campus.
- To consider the complaints received from the students, to conduct enquiry immediately and to submit are port to the Anti-ragging Committee along with punishment recommended for the offenders.

- Committee has taken steps and allotted duties to all the staff members at almost all areas in the college (i.e.canteen, parking places, different blocks, play grounds etc.) and ensure that at least one faculty member will be present at any particular time at all the location to avoid ragging activities.
- Committee has taken precautions to avoid ragging activities at other locations like bus Stops and given instructions and appointed student volunteers and secrete informers at various boarding points.
- Wide canvassing about anti ragging, is being done in the forms of flexes, posters andboards in college premises and surrounding areas where there is a chance of ragging.
- Grievances & Redressal committee is also made a part of these anti-ragging activities.
- Many awareness programmes about anti-ragging will be conducted by anti-ragging committee in the form of meetings.
